Great project! I will be interested to hear how the ryakubon version goes.

The next chaji will not be Ryakubon, it will be a regular with koicha and usucha. I only mentioned that the guest has only ever done Ryakubon. So she is a little less experienced than the last guest.

That is a cool project Marius. Is there someone you can use as a hanto? If you have a hanto that can work with an unexperienced guest when they absolutely need it things go really nicely, plus the extra help for you in the back. Additionally, if you invite a knowledgeable shokyaku she/he should be able to handle the majority of the other guests needs for you. I'm so happy that you are doing chaji on top of the normal keiko stuff, you're being a good example. I hope you are having fun with it.

Dear Marius
I am so glad to hear of tea students giving chaji. Too often tea practice is just a weekly exercise in temae. Through the participation in chaji, we get the whole experience of the way of tea.

My sensei used to require all of her tea students to host a chakai once a year. When we got to shikaden we were required to host a a shogo no chaji. And then when we were at okuden she required at least 2 chaji a year. One in furo and one in ro season.
